The Kingsland Masonic Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons Confer a Golden Trowel Award
The Kingsland Lodge #1423 honored its in Secretary-- Jim Simmons with a special ceremony on October 25, in Kingsland. Among the notable attendees were, the Most Honorable District Deputy Grand Master Stacy Nobles, who conferred the Golden Trowel Award, Jim’s wife of 12 years, Therese, and his parents Ken and Meri of Austin.
The presentation of the Golden Trowel strives to achieve excellence in all aspects of Free and Accepted Masons by upholding high principles and inspiring distinction and quality in the members of its’ organization. Through the Golden Trowel Awards, the Fraternity recognizes Brothers who demonstrate excellence in the awarding of the coveted Golden Trowel Award. A panel of Past Lodge Masters are charged with the task of nominating the most exceptional brother.
James R. Simmons, was raised as a Master Mason, June 4th, 1984, in Riverton Wyoming. He is an endowed member of both Kingsland Lodge #1424, and Norton Moses Lodge # 336 of Leander. He is still further distinguished, both as the Secretary of Kingsland Masonic Lodge, as well as the Secretary of the Llano Scottish Rite Club. His volunteering spirit shines brightly as well. He is a member of the Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department, is, a elder at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, a tireless volunteer at VetRide.
